G.M. WINNER. —Anthony Eric Johns, of New Plymouth, who has been awarded the George Medal for his part in a shark rescue at Oakura Beach on January 8 last. Mr Johns, who is 19, risked his life to bring a badly-injured girl to shore on his surfboard. The girl is believed to have died while being brought in.
