Paekakariki Trial INI. Preu Alioelatlom WELLINGTON, June 27. New Zealand's first electronic telephone exchange will be in use at Paekakariki by 1969. Orders for the equipment have been placed in Britain. The exchange would replace the Paekakariki manual exchange and would provide a much-improved service for. telephone users in the area, said the PostmasterGeneral (Mr Scott). Initially the exchange would serve 800 subscribers. Equipment would be added as the need arose. Paekakariki was considered the most suitable place for trial and evaluation for the equipment, Mr Scott said.
