Snow On Roads Snow on the Lewis Pass summit and in the Otira Gorge interfered with traffic on West Coast routes yesterday morning, but by the afternoon both roads had been cleared by Ministry of Works graders. Plane Damaged A privately-owned light aircraft, made before the Second World War, nosed over on landing at the Christchurch Airport on Sunday. The reason for the mishap is not known. The plane, which was on a flight from Timaru, is owned by a Dunedin man. It was unable to taxi across the airfield to a hangar and had to be picked up by a crane and placed on a trailer. It is now in the Canterbury Aero Club’s hangar awaiting repair to its damaged undercarriage. The pilot was not injured.
