Pound Shows Strength

Reflecting the support by the European central banks at last week’s meeting at Basle, the pound firmed considerably on all world currencies except Denmark, Western Germany and the Netherlands. Against the Danish crown the pound lost ground slightly while it was unchanged on the Dutch guilder and the West German mark, according to the latest exchange rates supplied by the Bank of N.S.W.
