Bizzarre in the twelfth round. The referee, Mr J. B. McTiernan, stopped the bout as Ortiz pounded Bizzarre around the ring after the champion had dropped the challenger for a mandatory eight-count. Ortiz, cut over hi-, right eye in the eighth round, appeared in danger of losing! his championship from the seventh round on. The elusive Bizzarro danced around the ring and Ortiz sensing he was behind on points, stalked his man, looking for a knock-out It took him until the twelfth round to catch, and then stop Bizzarro.
