Obituary MR C. F. BARNETT

Mr Cecil Francis Barnett well known in Christchurch some years ago as a chemist and as a motor-car enthusiast, 'died recently in Auckland.

I When his father (Mr S. F. Barnett) died. Mr Cecil Barnett became manager of the chemist’s shop long known as Barnett’s corner in Cathedral square and Colombo street. When the shop was taken over by another firm, Mr Barnett moved to Takapuna and set up his own chemist’s business.

Before parking restrictions were enforced in Cathedral square, Mr Barnett’s big M.G. (S.A.) 1939-moiel sports car, immaculately kept was al- [ ways parked outside the shop. He was president of the [Christchurch M.G. Car Club and led organisations of many of its functions.

Mr Barnett is survived by his wife and two . young daughters.
