Licence Fee For Tractors

(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, June 21. The Minister of Transport (Mr McAlpine) today confirmed that the annual licence fee for all tractors using the public highway was £4. He said some confusion had arisen between the annual licence fee for tight tractors and light trailers. “All tractors pay a common licence fee of £4 annually,” said Mr McAlpine. “Trailers with a laden weight of two tons or more also pay £4, but light trailers under two tons laden weight pay only 30s. “Farm traiters, on the other hand, are licenced free of charge regardless of weight “Farm implements when towed behind a licensed vehicle do not need to be registered or licensed.”
