More Mattresses
More inner-spring than wire mattresses were produced in the New Zealand mattress industry in 1964-65, according to the Government Statistician (Mr J. V. T. Baker). Wire mattresses increased from 40,554 in 1963-64 t< 54,095 in 1964-65, and inner-spring mattresses from 110,591 to 124,193. The value of production in toe industry in 1964-65 was £2,506,000, an increase of £129,000 or 5.4 per cent on toe previous year.
