ESCAPING CHARGE
Youth Pleads Guilty (N.I. Pritt Relocation i AUCKLAND, Jine 20. Philip Raymond O’Regan, aged 19, a wool scourer, plea ded guilty in the Auckland Magistrate's Court today to escaping from lawful custody. He was convicted by Mr W. J. Meade, S.M., and remanded to June 27 for a probation report and sentence. Sergeant E. R. Hutchinson said O'Regan escaped from the Waikeria penal institution prerelease hostel at Mt. Albert on May 21. David Bruce Reid, aged 19, a cook, and a young woman whose name was suppressed were remainded until Monday on charges of receiving and assisting O’Regan, know ing he had escaped from lawful custody.
Reid pleaded not guilty. No plea was taken from the woman.
