U.K. TEST SIDE UNDECIDED
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY. Because of injuries Britain has deferred naming its team for the Rugby League first test against Australia until today.
The British team was to have been chosen yesterday by the manager, Mr W. Spaven, but seven players are injured apart from F. Myler, who has a broken hand. The side’s masseur, Mr P.
Armour, said yesterday that the most doubtful player was the left centre, A. Buckley, who had a damaged rib cartilage. Buckley trained lightly yesterday. The only absentee from the workout was the scrum half, T. Bishop. Bishop had two stitches inserted in a gash inside his mouth after Saturday’s game against New South Wales and his mouth was badly swollen. Other players with test selection prospects who are receiving treatment are H. Poole and B. Jones with knee trouble, W. Ramsey with a sprained thumb, W. Burgess with a bruised thigh and the hooker, P. Flanagan, with a minor ankle injury.
