U.K. SHIPS ABROAD

Boycott Call Made

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, June 20. The general secretary of the International Transport Workers’ Federation, Mr Hans Imhof, said today he was asking unions abroad to boycott British ships diverted there to avoid the effects of the British seamen’s strike. He said he would also ask the unions not to supply crews to replace striking British seamen. Mr Imhof announced these moves in response to an appeal for support by the general secretary of the Seamen’s Union, Mr William Hogarth, yesterday morning.

Mr Imhof said he was bound to call for such mild support for any affiliated union.
