Few Road Injuries
Although traffic was heavy because of the Queen’s Birthday holiday week-end only two persons.were admitted to the Christchurch Hospital at the weekend as a result of injuries suffered in motor accidents. One was injured in an accident at Hurunui. Six persons were treated at the hospital for minor injuries.
Two Injured.—Two persons were injured when they fell off a motor-cycle on the Lewis Pass road on Saturday afternoon. Graham Jordan, of 171 Hills road, was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital suffering from head injuries. Deniice MeCleay, of 112 Leinster road, was treated for leg injuries. Hit Parked Car.—Norman William Cross, of 26 Digby place, suffered abrasions to the face when he was thrown out of a car which struck a parked car in Burwood road about 7 p.m. yesterday. He was treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Abrasions. —When a car and a bus collided in Christchurch about 10.5 p.m. on Saturday, Phillip Price, of the Addington motor camp, suffered abrasions to the forehead. He was treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Car Rolls Over.—Arm injuries were suffered by Des-
mond Wesley, of 134 King street, Rangiora, when a car rolled over at Rangiora on Saturday evening. He was treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Leg I n j u r i e s.—Martyn Henry Holden, of 25 Town belt, Lincoln, was treated at the Christchurch Hospital for leg injuries after two cars collided at the corner of Colombo and Peterborough streets about 2.40 a.m. yesterday. Cyclist Injured.—After a car and a cycle collided at the corner of Barbadoes and St. Asaph streets about 11.40 p.m. on Saturday, Frederick Job, of Southey street, was treated at the Christchurch Hospital for leg injuries. Greymouth Accident. —Sydney Hewison, aged 17, of Kairaki Beach, Kaiapoi, suffered injuries to his right leg when
the motor-scooter he was riding collided with a car at the corner of Mackay and Tainui streets, Greymouth, about 4.50 p.m. on Saturday. He was admitted to the Greymouth Hospital. His condition was reported as satisfactory. The pillion passenger on the scooter was not injured.
