Medical Faculty of the Univer sity of Otago, Auckland Hospt tai. Applicants must be members of’ a recognised College of Physicians of the British Commonwealth. The appointee will undertake full clinical duties, and will be encouraged to undertake work in any field ol special clinical interest and’or research. The tutoring and general supervision of final year medical students, and the allocation of "runs" of House Surgeons Physicians throughout the Board’s Institutions will also be part of the duties. The position has been desig nated under the Hospital Em ployment (Medical Officers’) Reg ulations, 1964, as that of “Spec ialist,” and the salary scale prescribed by the Regulations is: Specialist £2295-2415-2555-2710 per annum. Additional allowance of £l5O per annum is also payable for tutorial duties. Applicants should qualify as Senior Specialist and be member! of a recognised College of Physicians, and have had experience in clinical physiology or either cardiac or chest disease.

The position has been desig nated under the Hospital Em ployment (Medical Officers') Regulations 1964, as that of Senior Specialist and the salary scale prescribed is:— Senior Specialist (Scale 2c> £2BOO-12900 £3005-£3lOO per annum. (The commencing salary and maximum within the scale will be determined by the Medical Officers' Salaries Grading Committee in accordance with the appointee’s qualifications and experience). Duties will lie mostly In association with the hospital departments of Cardiology, Chest Medicine and Cardlothoracic and Vascular Surgery, in pro viding a technical service for physiological investigation of cardiac and pulmonary function and for technological aspects of treatment. Clinical re sponsibility will be negotiated for the appointee according to Ills qualifications and interests The appointee would also be en couraged to undertake develop mental work and clinical research.
