1600 Gns For Bull

HAMILTON, June 2
A record price of 1600gM for an aged bull of any dairy breed was paid at the dispersal sale of the Jersey stud of R. W. and B. A. McKinley, Ohaupo.
The sale attracted 800 breeders and farmers from all parts of New Zealand. The top price, paid by the Madeley Park stud farm, Ngarua, for the outstanding breeding rising six-year-old merit sire Glenmore Noble Project.
The top price for a cow was 780gns, paid by Mr K. R. Belfield of Ngarua, for Glenmore Noble Lyric.
Timber Officers.—The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the Canterbury Timber Merchants’ Association: president. Mr L. A. Brownlee; vicepresident, Mr B. W. Smart; secretary-treasurer, Mr P. M. Mac Shane; committee, Messrs D. B. Anderson, D. J. S. Cook, B. E. Mackenzie, J. Murphy, C. L. Smith, K. J. Thomson, C. R. Anderson, and J. L Tucker.
