PUBLIC NOTICES WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL NOTICE OF INTENTION TO MAKE AND LEVY RATES PURSUANT to the provisions of the "Rating Act, 1925” and the "Counties Act, 1956” and subsequent amendments. Public , Notice is hereby given that the Waimairi County Council has prepared and approved the following estimates of income and expenditure for the period com- ; menced the first day of April, I 1966, and ended on the thirtyfirst day of March, 1967. INCOME i (a) Motor Drivers’, Buildand other miscellaneous licences and I fees. 23,400 (b) Commisson, Rents etc. .. 31,750 (c) National Roads Board Subsidies and grants 55,399 (d) Outstanding Rates, etc. .. 24,963 Amount required from General Rates .. 229,155 364,677 EXPENDITURE (a) Administration, salaries, printing, and stationery, postages, telephones and general office expenses .. 75,226 (b) Items of a general nature, including maintenance of buildings, reserves, refuse pits, etc. .. 38,811 (c) Contributions to Christchurch Metropolitan Fire Board, Canterbury Museum, Regional Planning Authority, Riccarton Bush and Town Hall Funds. .. 40,817 (d) Separate accountstreet lighting .. 14,527 (e) County Works—including maintenance and construction of roads, footpaths, channels, dust and refuse collection and works loans charges. .. 186,708 (f) Transfers to Bridge buildings, plants and plantations renewal accounts. .. 8,578 £364,667 It is here Further Publicly Notified that it is the intention of the Waimairi County Council at an Ordinary Meeting of the Waimairi County Council to be held at 7.30 p.m. on Monday, the twentieth day of June, 1966, in the Council Chambers, corner Clyde and Jeffreys roads, Fendalton, to make and levy the undermentioned Rates upon the Rateable Value of all Rateable properties appearing in the Valuation Rolls now in force in the County of Waimairi for the period commenced the first day of April, 1966, and ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1967. 1 — General Consolidated Rates on the rateable capital value of all rateable properties in the several Ridings of the County as follows: Styx Riding .. -9521 d in the £ Marshland Riding ,8612 d in the £ Belfast Riding .. .7963 d in the £ Harewood Riding .7963 d in the £ Papanui Riding ,8462 d in the £ Wairarapa Riding ,8165 d in the £ Avonhead Riding .8165 d in the £ Fendalton Riding 7661 d in the £ Middleton Riding .7913 d in the £ The above rates will be made under the provisions of Sections 107 and 130 of "The Counties Act, 1956” and “The Rating Act, 1925.” 2 Water Rates and Charges under the provisions of Sections 118, 119 and 120 of "The Counties Act, 1956” and "The Rating Act, 1925” as follows: (a) On all lands and dwellinghouses to which water is supplied from the council’s water supply system a Rate of .26d (pence) in the (£) pound on the basis of capital value provided that if that rate would produce less than two pounds (£2) in respect of any such land or dwellinghouse, a Rate of not more than two pounds (£2) may be made and levied. (b) On all lands and dwellinghouses to which water can be but .it not supplied, situ-, ated within one hundred yards from any part of the Council’s water supply system, a Rate not exceeding half of the rates mentioned in paragraph (a) above. (C) On all lands and dwellinghouses situated within one hundred yards of any water main supplied with water from Christchurch City Council water mains, the same rates as would be levied by the Christchurch City Council if such land or dwellinghouse was in the City being a rate of .3600 d (pence) in the (£) pound on the basis of capital value for a connected property and .ISOOd (pence) in the (£) pound for an unconnected property. (d) On all lands and dwellinghouses situated within one hundred yards of any part of the council’s water supply system in Philpotts road, a rate of four pounds (£4) for properties connected to the supply, and two pounds (£2) for properties not connected. (e) EXTRAORDINARY SUPPLY PER METER. Residential, . commercial, industrial etc., one shilling (Is) per thousand gallons for properties connected to the council’s water supply system and one shilling and four pence (Is 4d) per thousand gallons for properties supplied from the Christchurch City Council’s water supply system. Public Hospitals and educational institutions ninepence ‘ (9d) per thousand gallons. 3 It is hereby further publicly notified that it Is the intention of the Waimairi County Council at an Ordinary Meeting to be held at 7.30 p.m. on Monday, the twentieth day of June, 1966, in the Council Chambers, cnr. Clyde and Jeffreys roads. Fendalton. To Make and Levy a Uniform Annual Fee of four pounds and two shillings (£4 2s) on each property which is provided with a sanitation service. The said Annual Fee will be made under the provisions of Section 115 of "The Counties Act, 1956" and be levied for the period commenced on the first day of April, 1966, and ending on the thirty-first day of March, 1967. 4 OTHER AUTHORITIES RATES. The Council will collect such rates as are made by Special Order by the following local authorities— Christchurch Drainage Board. Christchurch Transport Board. North Canterbury Catchment Board. It is hereby Further Publicly Notified that the whole of the before mentioned Rates, Charges and Uniform Annual'Fee will be payable at the office of the Waimairi County Council, corner Clyde and Jeffreys roads, Fendalton, in one sum, on the first day of August, 1966, and be subject to a penalty of ten per cent (10 per cent), additional it not paid within six months and fourteen days from date of demand thereof. The Valuation Rolls and the Rate Books containing particuars of all the above Rates and the Uniform Annual Fee are open for inspection without fee by all ratepayers during office hours which are from 9 a.m. to 4.30 p.m., Monday to Friday.
