Two Killed
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 1. An elderly man and woman were killed instantly on the Northern motorway tonight when the car in which they were travelling was involved in a head-on collision. The new rescue unit of the St. John Ambulance Association was called to cut the man and woman from under the dashboard of the car.
The accident happened about 9 p.m., three-quarters of a mile past the Harbour Bridge toll gates. The two occupants of the south-bound car were taken to hospital by ambulance.
