TRAIN LET THROUGH

Has Zambia’s Copper

(N.Z.P A.-Reuter— Copyright) LIVINGSTONE (Zambia),

A Rhodesian Railways train carrying copper and zinc exports from Zambia crossed the border into Rhodesia yesterday without hindrance.

There had been doubts whether the train would be allowed through, after last Saturday’s Zambian High Court ruling temporarily restraining the jointly-owned railways from imposing a new advance-payment system for freight. The Zambian Government had rejected the new system. Rhodesian authorities, however, said the new payments system would be insisted on, although the railways in Zambia had ordered Zambian staff to comply with the Court order and accept traffic on I the old basis.
