Fitzgerald Avenue Trees
Sir, —The Fitzgerald avenue trees have prior right of establishment over those living there 12 years. Why settle among them to complain later? Why remain? Why not be thankful for 1 their air-clean sing properties and compost in leaf mould values? In some unfortunate areas Christchurch already looks daily more like a plucked, half-bald fowl, where tree beauty and street garden frontages fall to carpark.—Yours, etc., CITY DETRACTIONS. June 1, 1966.
