CHAPLAIN SOUGHT
Assistance At Prison
Applications for the position of assistant chaplain to Paparua Prison, Christchurch, are being sought by the National Council of Churches, according to an article in “Church and Community,” “The purpose of the appointment is to give assistance to the chaplain and also to provide an opportunity for training in this field,” the journal said. Younger clergy who have had at least five years’ parish work and are prepared to engage in “an ecumenical ministry and with an eagerness to proclaim the Gospel in communicable terms to a group of people whose whole background is non-religious,” are being asked to apply.
