The Australian Rugby selectors have droped the centre, B. J. Ellwood, from their team to play the British Lions in the second test, at Brisbane on Saturday. Ellwood, who has played in 20 test matches, had not been dropped from an Australian test side in the last nine seasons apart from times when he was injured. His replacement is the young New South Wales player, J. Brass, who played for the state against the Lions but who was injured and had to leave the field with concussion.

League Match.—The Auckland Rugby League will invite the West Coast representative team to play its annual match against Auckland at Carlaw Park on July 23.
