TAKE-OVER OF BLACKIE’S

GV.Z Press Association) DUNEDIN, May 27. The old-established business of D. H. Blackie. Ltd., manufacturers of women’s clothins. has been taken over from the National Mortgage and Agency Company, by the Ronaldson group of companies, headed by Mr D. S. Ronaldson from Dunedin.
The group, based in Dunedin. alreadv has wide interests in textile manufacturing and retailing throughout New Zealand. The total sum involved has not been disclosed, but it is understood to be close on £lOO,OOO.
The sale, according to a spokesman for the group today, includes not only premises. plant and stock in Dunedin and Alexandra but also a number of English agencies. These include Hardy Amies, which the Ronaldson group will promote by manufacturing under licence. There would be no radical change in the general activities of Blackie’s, the spokesman said, and it would continue as a completely separate trading entity.
