New Boxing Champion

<N.Z. Press Assortaf ton > DUNEDIN. J. Henderson (list 21b) used a straight left and his advantage in reach to relieve a lethargic F. Manuao ((list 61b) of his New Zealand middle-weight boxing title in Dunedin last evening. It was a unanimous points win for Henderson (Southland), who was awarded 14. 11 and 10 rounds by the three judges. In the wake of his previous stirring displays in Dunedin. Manuao gave a lamentable showing. He lacked real fire and had no means of getting inside Henderson’s long lead.

Any chance the Tongan had of challenging for the Empire title this year disappeared in probably his most untidy performance so far.
