Gisborne To Adopt Frigate

(N.Z. Press Association) GISBORNE, May 11. Gisborne will adopt the frigate Blackpool. The city is the home of her commanding officer, Commander J. Quinn. The Minister of Defence (Mr Eyre) said today that New Zealanders to man Blackpool were arriving in Britain and that she would commission in June, work up in British waters and go direct, to the Far East station to relieve the Otago.
