Our Luck Proves Fit For Auckland

"The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND. Our Luck and Our Eileen emphasised their fitness for the Huia Handicap at Alexandra Park tomorrow wtih another fine work-out at Pukekohe yesterday. The pair had also worked impressively on Tuesday. They comprise a formidable bracket in the Huia Handicap, which is the second leg of the T.A.B. double. Bobbinet, the likely favourite for the first leg, the May Handicap, was among others to shape attractively. Our Luck (Hair) appeared to be running slightly better than Our Eileen (Balle) at the end of two miles in 4min 34sec.

Our Eileen set a leisurely pace for the first mile, the tempo then quickened appreciably and the next half-mile was done in Imin 8 2-ssec.

Our Luck drew alongside nearing the home turn. She was slightly in front at the post after the last half-mile in Imin 3 l-ssec.

Bobbinet (Morrison) led Lonesome Valley (Holley) and Superior Chief (B. Purdon) over two miles in 4min 39 2-ssec. Poroti Pride (H. Purdon) ran the last mile and a half with them in 3min 24 2-ssec.

Bobbinet accelerated starting the last round. She was still under a good hold at the finish after clocking Imin 2sec for the last half-mile, and the last quarter in 30sec.
