REPLACEMENT OF AIDS

School Policy Criticised It was unfair that new schools were supplied with typewriters and duplicators while established schools had to pay for replacements, said Mrs M. E. Rae, at a meeting of the Canterbury School Committees’ Association. Mr J. Stebbings (Addington) said his committee was concerned that it would have to find £65 out of parents' money to replace a duplicator, even though there was a subsidy payable. "The time has arrived when this type of school equipment is supplied,” he said. It was agreed to ask the Education Board and the Education Department to replace typewriters and duplicators free of cost to school committees.
