Top Marks In Exam.

<N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, May 11. A member of the Wellington Fire Brigade, Mr G. Hughes, is the second New Zealand fireman in succession to gain top marks in the world for the Institute of Fire Engineers’ associate diploma examinations.

He was presented with his diploma by the Chief Fire Service Officer, Mr H. L. E. Perryman, at the annual conference of the New Zealand branch of the institute in New Plymouth today.

Diplomas were also presented to B. T. Gordon, G. J. L. Mitchell and D. N. Sinclair, all of Christchurch.
