N.Z. Issues Weaker As Slide Continues
New Zealand issues were again weaker as the price slide continued for the fourth successive day. Key stocks underscored this trend. Overseas shares were almost in balance.
Insurances were variable: South British and National both lost some ground, but New Zealand recovered 3d to 22s 3d. Alliance climbed further to a peak for the year of 11s 3d. Pye traded briskly and closed Id up at 10s 9d. Dominion Breweries and Fletcher declined.
There was a resurgence of profit-taking in Ross and Glendining with the price falling Id to Ils lOd. B.H.P. lost Is 3d to 47s 6d and C.S.R. Is 3d to 25s 3d, mirroring losses in Australia on Tuesday.
