Time Consuming There were 12 search and rescue operations in the Arthur’s Pass National Park in the year ended March 31, I the chairman (Mr N. S. Coad) told the annual meeting of the park board yesterday. These operations took up 367 man-hours of staff time. During one 72-man five-day search for a girl who was subsequently found fit and well, staff man-hours amounted to 160. Oldest Brother The oldest Marist Brother in New Zealand, Brother Augustine, has completed 69 years with the order. Brother Augustine, aged 85, was born in England. In New Zealand he attended Marist schools in Christchurch before going to Sydney, where he took his vows in 1897. He went to Auckland in 1905 to teach at St Paul’s College, then Sacred Heart. Later he spent 16 years in Fiji and six in Invercargill before returning to St. Paul’s about 1936. Since retiring in 1963 he has remained at the college. Dick) in the service’s annual report A group of 114 has given 50 or more donations each, nuking a total of 6330 units—almost a year’s supply. One person has given 90 donations, and two have given 80.
