After hearing evidence from the stipendiary steward, R. G. Morris,• th* driver of Phenom*, and G. R. Shirley (Garrison's Choice) it was found that there had been Interference and Direct Globe Was disqualified. Dispense wa* promoted to third, and Phenoma to fourth. D. D. Nyhan, driver of Direct Globe, had Ms horseman’s licence suspended up to and including May 28. After the Fairfield Handicap, an objection wa* lodged against Snead (R. H. Negus) being placed second on the ground of Interference to Showpiece (D. G. Jone*). Evidence wa* heard from, the stipendiary steward and it wa* found that Snead ran out sharply for no reason, and checked Showpiece. Snead was relegated to fourth, Phi'lmark promoted to second and Showpiece to third. No action wa* taken against Negus is it was considered he did hi* utmost to straighten the horse.
