City Building Figures
The 358 building permits issued by the City Council last month had a value of £602371. In April of last year there were 337 permits issued with a value of £615,125. Alterations to dwellings accounted for the greatest number of permits last 248—but their value at £53,090 was exceeded by other classes of permits. The 38 new dwellings approved had a value of. £137,290; and other new buildings, of which there were 24, were valued at £231,812. ' Permits were issued for 14 new fiat buildings to provide 43 units and the value was £106,010.
