Another house was entered, but nothing was stolen. . A house in Styx MIR ro>" was entered between 830 a m. and 9.30 p m. on Thursday and effects valued at £37 10s were stolen. day night property va,ued *’ £59 5s was taken from a oat in Madras street. A flat in Colombo street was broken into on Thursday and property valued at £47 stolen. During the day a house in Wndermere road was also entered and articles valued at £32 were stolen. On Thursday night the faetory of J. J* Melhuish and Company, Ltd., in Wilsons road, was entered and £62 ihs in money and cheques for £22 19s 7d were stolen. Entry was gained through an unlocked door. An insecure window at the Heathcote premises of Canterbury (New Zealand) Malting Company, Ltd, gave thieves access between 5 p.m. at 8 p.m. on Friday. A calculating machine valued at £3O was stolen. A camera valued at £25 was stolen on Friday evening from a house In Huntsbury avenue. A spade was used to force the window of a house in Withells road during the evening, but nothing was stolen.
