More Falls Than Rises As Trading Ends
Trading on New Zealand stock exchanges yesterday ended for the week on an easier note, with more falls than rises in both the New Zealand and overseas lists. Key stocks followed the same trend.
Fluctuations by second-line stocks were a feature of the New Zealand section, but most price changes were narrow. Claude Neon contributing made the sharpest gain with a rise of Is 3d to 29s 9d. Dominion Breweries rose a further 2d to 17s 3d, but New Zealand Breweries lost Id to 13s Bd. New Zealand Insurance gained 3d more to 22s 6d. B.H.P. recovered 6d to 49s—6d below its peak for the year. C.S.R. at 26s and E.Z. at 19s 9d each gained 3d. Mount Isa lost 9d to 36s 9d and W. R. Carpenter 6d to 22s 9d. Ampol, G. J. Coles and Waltons each lost Id.
