Eventful
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 5. The Orcades which arrived from England this morning had an eventful voyage. More than 1200 passengers travelling to Australia and New Zealand were not allowed to land at Aden after the violent death of an Englishwoman from another ship on the quayside a few days previously. A party of tourists had been returning from a shopping excursion and were waiting to be taken back out to their ship when a hand grenade was thrown in their midst by a terrorist During the voyage an emergency operation was performed on board the Orcades. ' When half-way between Aden and Malaysia advice was received from a small German freighter that one of her crew was suffering serious abdominal trouble. A rendezvous was arranged and the sick man was transferred by lifeboat
