RULING RATES

One Part Left

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 5. The basic wage increases suggested by the ruling rates survey last February have been accepted by the Government—but one of the survey’s recommendations has still to be agreed to. The general secretary of the Public Service Association (Mr D. P. Long) said a deputation from the Combined State Services Organisation met the State Services Coordinating Committee this afternoon to discuss the survey. “The one outstanding issue left is the application of the salary scale recommendations on the middle and upper levels,” said Mr Long. Results of the survey will affect the pay of over 150,000 central and local government employees.
