Dangerous Throwing

Sir, —I wish to protest against things being thrown at the students from the upper storeys of buildings on the route. It is no doubt possible to toss coins safely, but aiming and throwing pennies is dangerous, and even more irresponsible was the throwing of a bottle from somewhere above the Ernest Adams shop on the corner of the Square. This time no-one was hurt, but there could have been a serious injury, and I greatly admire the student who dropped out of the procession and carefully picked up all the broken glass, to save the bare feet of some students still to come.— Yours, etc., J.C. May 5, 1966.
