Ship’s Holds Opened

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 2. The five holds of the freighter Elin Haven which were fumigated on Saturday after the discovery of carpenter ants, were opened today to allow the poisonous gas to escape. The discharge of cargo will continue tomorrow. The ship is due to sail for Lyttelton on Thursday. The fumigation of another freighter with ant trouble, the Baron Minto, was completed today. The ship is loading cargo and is expected to sail for Napier on Friday.
