PRICE OF CARS
No Change Known (N.Z. Press Association) NELSON, May 2. Standard • Triumph (N.Z.), Ltd., does not know whether a price increase in Triumph cars announced in England yesterday will affect New Zealand manufactured cars. The secretary of the Ley-land-Triumph group, Mr F. J.’ Griffin, of Auckland, said in a telephone interview that the 'New Zealand company had received no information about the price increases. Frequently when prices were adjusted in England the prices for overseas manufactured Triumph cars remained constant, he said. Until the company had some advice, he could not say if the increase would affect New Zealand manufactured cars. He said he expected that cars imported from England already built up would be affected. Two of the models affected in the price increases in England, the Triumph Herald 1200 saloon and estate car, are manufactured for the New Zealand market at the Nelson factory of Motor Assemblies, Ltd.
