BID TO KEEP MEDAL
V.C. Mav Be Sold (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) MELBOURNE, May 1. An Australian ex-service-men’s association is trying to raise 1000 dollars to prevent a Victoria Cross being sold overseas. The 2/25th Battalion Association wants to buy the V.C. from the widow of Private Richard Kelliher, who won the medal in the last war. Unless the money is raised within the next few weeks the medal may be auctioned in London.
