Would Have To Move
Resiting of the Christchurch Kindergarten College would be necessary if the proposed motorway across Hagley Park was built, said Mrs P. Dalmer, principal of the college, at the annual meeting of the Christchurch Free Kindergarten Association on Thursday evening.
“This is our chance to see that the training of preschool teachers is integrated more closely with the Christchurch Teachers’ Training College and the university,” said Mrs Dalmer. An institute of child development, as suggested by Dr. P. Lawrence at a previous annual meeting, on the lines of the London Institute of Child Development, with provision for a demonstration centre and opportunities for research was a possibility that should be examined, she said. <
