The University was established on January 1, 1964, and occupies a site of about 125 acres on the outskirts of Hamilton The academic organisation of the University is based on schools of study rather than of faculties and departments. The teaching of full-time coordinated courses in the Schools of Humanities Social Sciences and Education has begun this year. The teaching of languages is centred in the School of Humanities, although language courses are also provided in the other schools. The development of postgraduate work and research is being encouraged. Conditions' for study leave are favourable. The appointee will be responsible to the University Council for teaching and research in French, and will be required to assist in the overall work of the University.
