CLEAN-UP ORDERED

Corruption In Indonesia (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter — Copyright) DJAKARTA, April 28. Lieutenant-General Suharto. Chief of the General Staff and holder of executive power in Indonesia, has called for the stamping out of corruption in the Government. Speaking to Customs officers, the general said there had been a great deal of popular criticism of the Government service and some of it was well-founded. He knew what the temptations were in the present economic situation: but “if we do not purify ourselves, the people who have become most critical and radical will purify us.”
