Manufacturers’ Trade Mission
(From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, April 27. Mr 11. W. B. Patterson, of Upper Hutt, representing Lyte Aluminium Industries, will lead the Manufacturers’ Federation trade mission to North America next month.
Members assembled in Wei- ! lington today for a briefing at which the Minister of Overseas Trade (Mr Marshall) will present a £l9OO cheque representing the State grant toward the costs of the mission. The party, which leaves on May 17 and returns on June 19, is the second the federation has sent abroad this year and comes after a similar visit to South-east Asia. Mr L. G. Piper, of Auckland, representing New Zealand Breweries. Ltd., will be the deputy-leader and Mr W. G. Kerslake, the federation’s export and trade promotion officer, will be the secretary. Firms Represented Other members and the firms they represent are: Messrs E. N. Adams, of Invercargill. fruit cake; J. Block, of Wellington, costume jewellery: Alex Corban. of Auckland, wines: G. Koszegi, of Auckland, travel and casual bags; G. N. Tuftin, of Wellington, home saunas; H. Davis, of Christchurch, refrigerated meat, J. H. Shaw, of Auckland, adhesive labels; R. G. Alexander, of Auckland, forest products; R. W. Griffiths, of Wellington, floor coverings, and M. T. Mackey,
of Rotorua, woodware and souvenirs. Also in the party will be Mr N. 11. Rickman, of Hamilton. representing the Bankers’ Association, Messrs J. B. Wisden and R. G. Brooks, representing Air New Zealand, and Mr A. P. O'Shea. North American representative for the Meat Board, who will join the group in the United States.
