KINGDOM OF TONGA APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED for the position of Manager, Tonga Broadcasting Commission. DUTIES: Management of the Commission and its radio station ZCO, and acting as Secretary at all meetings of the Commission. The Manager is required to supervise all activities of the Station, to train and to control staff, to act as Advertising Manager (ZCO functions as a commercial station), to supervise advertising contracts and all advertising copy, to correspond with advertisers and agencies; he should be experienced in programme work, presentation and production. The Commission operates a retail shop for the sale of radios, tape recorders and similar equipment... the applicant should therefore, have had some experience in this direction. He will be required to control the purchase of stock, costing and pricing, and should be able to direct the marketing of this equipment. It is desirable that the applicant should have had some accounting experience. The Successful applicant should be prepared to arrive in Tonga not later than Mid-December, 1966, to take up his duties. CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary will be £TIBOO to commence, with increases to a maximum of £T2IOO after the third year. £TI2S equals £NZIOO. There are special allowances for children when they are required to attend school in their home countries. Details of other benefits under this scheme are available. Housing and hard furnishings are provided at a cost of 7% of salary in the case of a married man or, in the case of a single man who lives in bachelor quarters, 3j% of salary.
