Last Voyage
Captain T. H. J. Davis, master of the inter-island steamer Maori, will make his last voyage in command next Wednesday evening when the Maori leaves Lyttelton for Wellington. At Wellington, Captain Davis will hand over command to Captain H. G. Robertson. A former Aparima cadet who survived after the Aparima was torpedoed in the Second World War, Captain Davis has spent the whole of his seafaring career with the Union Steam Ship Company.
