BOBO UNIVERSITY VACANCIES UNIVERSITY OF WAIKATO HAMILTON NEW ZEALAND PROFESSOR OF EDUCATION THE University of Waikato in- j vites applications for the position of Professor of Education, who will be responsible to the University Council for teaching and research in nis subject. The appointee will also be first Dean of the School of Education, and as Dean he will be Chairman of the Board of Studies and responsible on a day-to-day basis for the work of the School. The University is closely associated with the Hamilton Teachers’ College through the School of Education which provides courses leading to a diploma and a degree in education for Teachers’ College students who are qualified for admission to the University. The Board of Studies of the School is made up of members of staff of both institutions who are teaching within the School. The University of Waikato is a new University established on January 1, 1964. It occupies a site of about 125 acres on the outskirts of Hamilton. The academic organisation of the University is based on schools of study rather than on faculties and departments. The teaching of full-time coordinated courses in the Schools of Education, Humanities, and Social Sciences.has begun this year. The development of postgraduate work and research is being encouraged.
