Y.W.C.A. May Extend Work (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, April 20. The Young Women’s Christian Association of New Zealand is considering reforming its purpose to be relevant to the times and to meet pre-sent-day thinking. This is being discussed at the association’s three-day national board meeting in Wellington. Extension of work into new areas has been under consideration. So has the mutual service programme in which the Y.W.C.A. co-operates with its counterparts in other areas of the world. Assistance is given by the New Zealand body to Fiji, South Africa, Jordan and Korea. Plans have been discussed for dealing with an influx of visitors for the conference of the world Y.W.C.A. being held for the first time in Australia. It will take place in August. Teams of visitors from the gathering will come to New Zealand to see each association.
