Manager Of Southern 13

The chairman of the Canterbury Rugby League board of control, Mr D. C. Wilson, has been selected to manage the Southern XIII team to play the Northern XIII at Auckland on April 30.

The coach will be Mr W. F. Mountford (West Coast). A brother of the national advisory coach, Mr C. R. Mountford, and a 1946 Kiwi wing, Mr W. Mountford is also a Southern XIII selector. He is a graded provincial coach and won the position in preference to Mr D. L. Blanchard (Canterbury). Should the Southern XIII win the match Messrs Wilson and Blanchard will take a team of 19 players on a threematch tour of Queensland in mid-May.

Brothels Razed.—Lima’s notorious “red light” district—--48 brothels and a cluster of nightclubs and bars—will be cleaned up today by being systematically razed.—Lima, April 20.
