Merry Morning Is Winton Pick

“The Press’* Special Service INVERCARGILL. Merry Morning has the form to win the Central Handicap, main event and first leg of the T.A.B. double at the Winton Trotting Club’s autumn meeting tomorrow. A string of recent minor placings—three seconds and a third in his last four starts—has shown the Light Brigade gelding to have the edge on most in his class. He will be coupled with two form runners, Southern Rev and Major Bright, and the bracket will be at restricted odds. The second leg, the Lochlei Handicap, is much more open with the Highland Hills — Golden Legacy bracket from D. Todd’s stable assured of favouritism. The weather has been fine and the track will provide an excellent racing surface.
