Dolphin Guard

(N.Z. Press Association) WHANGAREI, March 24. A “Rang! the Dolphin” Protection Committee has been formed to make sure that the dolphin now in the black rock pool of the Waihou river in Hokianga is adequately protected from harm and is regularly fed as long as he stays in the pool. A roster system will be arranged to have committee members on duty at the pool at all times. Committee members will carry identification

cards. No-one will be allowed to enter the pool. A donation box will be erected to raise funds for feeding the dolphin and people wishing to view Rangi at close quarters will be told they are entering Mr J. M. Adams’s property at their own risk. It is also hoped to have a Transport Department officer present to control traffic on the No. 1 highway at week-ends when a large number of visitors is expected.
