Fishing Boat Seized

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) TOKYO, March 15. A Japanese fishing boat was fired on and seized early today by a South Korean patrol off Cheju Island for alleged violation of a restricted fishing zone. The No. 53 Kaiyo Maru, with three crewmen aboard, was taken toward Cheju Island by the South Korean patrol. Nine other crewmen jumped overboard and were rescued by a Japanese Coastguard vessel.

A Foreign Ministry spokesman said the case was being studied, but would not say whether a protest would be made.
